Cards for Kindness ~ A Linky to Spread Kindness

Hello all you FUN Homeschool Teachers/Parents!
Before we get to our Cards for Kindness linky, we just want to remind everyone about our Referral Rewards System.  To take a look at the previous post for details, click here.
This is the time of the year to show how much we care for one another. The team over at The Teaching Tribune wanted to do something "to give back", so we are linking up with our favorite blogging buddies to show how our little ones made Valentines to take out into our communities.
We had so much FUN making these cards for one of the assisted living facilities in our area, that we wanted to show you some pictures of what kindness looks like through the eyes of our youngest learners.
Step 1
Buy inexpensive Valentine gift bags.

Step 2
Cut out the front and sides of the bag.
Step 3
Cut paper the size of the different pieces. Staple the paper to the bag or punch holes in the paper, run the ribbon through and tie on the back.

Step 4
Have the children decorate with stickers, draw pictures etc.

Finished! Now all we have to do is share!

Be sure to grab our button and  link up with us over at The Teaching Tribune to show how your kiddos shared the love with their Cards for Kindness! Thanks for visiting and remember to SHARE THE LOVE!!

Books, Books, Books! We LOVE Books!

When thinking about books for young children, it is hard for me to talk about only one! There are so many great, FUN books for the little ones. One of my favorites is Ella Sarah Gets Dressed  by Margaret Chodos-Irvine.
This is not only a great read aloud, it's a Caldecott Honor book, is good for shared reading, acting out and puppet/felt board retelling. The repetitive text makes it really fun for the kids!!
If you have ever had little ones who have a mind of their own, you will relate to this story. Ella's mom, dad and sister all try to convince her to wear what they think is appropriate. Ella will have no part of it and insists on wearing some very flamboyant clothes! When Ella's friends arrive for a tea party, Ella Sarah's favorite outfit is JUST RIGHT!
Try it out. Here it is on Amazon. Have FUN with it!!!!

Take care and let us know what you think about it!

I have linked up with Kindergarten Smorgasboard to share all the books we love!!!

And don't forget.. you can still pick up our Preschool Rocks Instant downloads bundle on Educents!  It's only available a few more days so be sure to grab it!  It's really good for PRESCHOOL OR KINDERGARTEN as it has many hands on activities that are academic and fun!  It's got rhyming, alphabet, basic math and much more!  You will love, love, love!

Is the Sand and Water Table NOT FUN for You?

Do your parents and administrators think your students are just PLAYING when they are at the Sand and Water table? Can you name the objectives they are learning to justify the time at the center? Do you know what research says about the benefits of using the Sand and Water center?

Research shows that multisensory exploration-based activities are best for brain development. Using a sand/water or “sensory” table encourages higher-level thinking and problem-solving skills, naturally scaffolds learning, builds vocabulary, improves strength in small motor muscles, and allows for exploration, observation and discovery. These are just a few of the many reasons to use a sand/water table!!
Here are some ways we use a Sand and Water table in our room with connections to core objectives.
Letter Identification
Students go "fishing" for letters.

Science Thematic Vocabulary
Students match "hidden" letters with printed vocabulary words.

Science Life Cycles
Students reenact the life cycle of pumpkins.

Sound-Symbol Correspondence
Students match letters they have "fished" for to an alphabet chart.

We hope you and your kids have fun at the sand and water center!

Look at this!! Fun Factory Referral Rewards!

Hello again you FUN people!
Kathy and I have decided to start a FUN referral reward system for our TPT store! Here's how it works.....
  1. You refer a friend who goes to our store and buys something.
  2. They rate the product and leave a comment that they were referred. They can use this statement: "I was referred by a friend." They don't even have to give us your name because you will give us their TPT buyer's name when you email us.
  3. Then all you have to do is email us at thefunfactory12@gmail.com, give us your friend's TPT buyer's name and tell us what you would like for FREE!!
  4. You may choose anything of equal or less value of the total of your friend's purchase.
You may do this with as many friends as you would like! Of course your friend is also eligible to refer anyone they would like!
Easy and FUN!!! Tell all of your friends and you may end up with a whole year full of products for FREE!!  We like FUN and FREE, don't we?
We'll look forward to hearing from you and your friends.
Have a FUN New Year!! Click on the picture below to go directly to our store!
P.S. This is good for digital products only (the free part).

Happy New Year & Currently

Hello Everyone!
Hope you had a FUN New Year's Eve!!! It's always hard to get back to reality, isn't it?
So much work goes into Christmas preparation and then so much work goes into cleaning up afterward. Have you ever regretted any of it? Well, I can honestly say, I don't regret ONE second!! Don't get me wrong....I don't like all the W.O.R.K. but I love, love, love the "work".  Does that make sense to anyone else?
All my friends think I'm crazy. Maybe there is at least one other person out there like me???!!!
Anyway, I am happy to see 2014. Too many sad things happened to me in 2013 so it is a year I'm happy to say goodbye to.  Now CURRENTLY......
